Angela Humphrey

Instructor

Angela, a first-generation college student, holds a B.A. in Digital Media Design from Florida Gulf Coast University, in addition to a minor in Violin Performance (for which she, previously only self-taught, earned a scholarship). She specializes in motion capture animation, game design, and digital and/or 2D illustration, and is a skilled 3D modeler (organic and hard-surface), with a focus on texture creation and character rigging. She is well-versed in a variety of industry-standard programs, including Maya, Blender, Unity, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Game Maker, and Unreal Engine. Angela is also an experienced teacher, game developer, and professional, having previously taught at Wake Technical Community College as an Adjunct Instructor (Simulation & Game Development), developed the first course in 3D Animation for beginners as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at FGCU, and wrote a publication for the FGCU Aquila magazine advocating for further 3D animation accessibility in the classroom. One of her most recent projects, where she acted as Lead 3D Artist & Animator, was for an international game jam contest, titled Resolve: Spirits of the Forest.

In her free time, Angela enjoys hiking, archery, medieval combat (complete with foam swords!), and playing her violin and guitar at different punk rock venues.
