In the spotlight this month is our Red Bank and Manasquan Instructor, Ailsa Thiel! She joined the Game-U Team back in November and brings a number of skills to the table, including expertise in Maya, Unreal Engine, Substance Painter, a variety of Adobe products, and more!
Ailsa has an extensive background in the game development and artistic fields, having participated in multiple Global Game Jams and held positions such as Lead Designer, Technical Artist, and more. Not content to rest on her laurels, Ailsa continues to delve deeper and develop her skills in multiple programs (Unity, Krita, RPG Maker, to name but a few) and a variety of arenas, including coding, level design, 3D modeling, animation, and more – all in the name of teaching her students!
A wonderful quality Ailsa exhibits in her classes is her passion for her students’ work, celebrating their accomplishments and getting them excited about their projects. She encourages them to show off their brilliance – and her enthusiasm is contagious! You can actually see her students shine. With Ailsa’s help, they’re getting their ideas out there, publishing online, creating their own websites, and posting their artwork. The results speak for themselves!
You’re in the spotlight, Ailsa, and you deserve it. We’re lucky to have you!
