Meet Sonia B. – longtime Girls.Coder, programmer and game developer extraordinaire, achiever of many spectacular feats, and purveyor of music – Flemington’s December 2019 Student of the Month!
Sonia B. has been attending Girls.Code Advanced on Mondays since March of 2019. Never one to hold back, she jumped right into the deep end of coding – working in C#, Python, and Visual Basic languages, to name just a few.
Check out one of her most recent projects below – a Blackjack game, developed and coded in Python!
According to instructor Rebecca, Sonia is “a pleasure to teach,” always following up on her projects, determined to succeed, and always willing to learn and listen, with a great sense of humor.
Since beginning Girls.Code, Sonia has achieved a great deal! She participated in an independent mobile game design contest co-sponsored by Game-U, building her contest entry in AppInventor.
She’s completed projects up to and including Choose-Your-Own-Adventure games, trivia games, a digital version of Mad Libs, and more! In the process, she has earned no fewer than thirteen achievement badges and nearly 4000 XP.
Always a team player, Sonia also likes to play cool music for her classmates, in order to keep them company while they code.
Congratulations, Sonia! For your consideration of others, excellence, studiousness, diligence, responsibility, curiosity, and determination, you are Game-U’s December 2019 Student of the Month! We are all rooting for you to reach ever higher.
