You’re invited! Game-U Flemington is hosting its very first Game Showcase to celebrate the conclusion of its Rolling Ball curriculum module. So today, Friday, March 1st, 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM, visit the Flemington studio to help celebrate our students’ achievements!
The Game Showcase is designed to be an interactive, hands-on way for students, parents, and friends to understand and get involved with what’s happening here at the studio. Eight of our students have been nominated by instructors to showcase their original games. Guests can playtest showcased students’ games, talk to their creators, and then use Google Forms to cast their votes. The polls will close at 5:00 PM in preparation for awards! Winners will receive trophies and XP badges. Categories for potential prizes include Best Original Game, Crowd Favorite, Best Original Art, and Instructor Choice. Parents, friends, and classmates alike are all invited! RSVP on Facebook to let us know you’re coming!
Want a preview of one of the games you’ll get to test? Check out Harrison’s gameplay video! Harrison L., one of our Game Presenters, demonstrated both exceptional creativity and technical skill during the Rolling Ball module. Using the game development engine Construct 2, Harrison combined Breakout- and Rolling Ball-styles in his work. His willingness to learn and expand upon his project inspired his instructor to nominate him for the Showcase. Harrison went above and beyond in class, actively searching not only for ways to add new features to his game, but also to improve upon areas that already existed. This self-review and drive for perfection is part of what makes an ideal Game Presenter. Amazing work, Harrison!
Game-U Flemington is excited to host Harrison, Albert, Ryan, Michael, Stella, Peter, Noah, and Paul at the Rolling Ball Game Showcase! We’d love to see you there!
