Yeah, no, don’t ask.
We’re just kidding. We’re going to tell you anyway!
This nugget is Teen.Coder Edison’s asteroids game! For reasons best known to himself, he went and made French fries in his space environment. (Who’s to say they don’t exist in space, right?) Instructor Rebecca challenged each student to code a unique object into his or her game – and Edison sure did!
But it gets even better! These French fries are not drawn. They are not a sprite. They are straight-up coded in Python, using the turtle module! Essentially, Edison coded a number of different turtles (graphical objects built into the Python turtle module) that he programmed to be of specific shapes, sizes, colors, and positions. Together, the turtles make these French fries – and everything else on the screen, including the lasers, asteroids, spaceships, and lasers. Pretty cool, Edison! For your out-of-the-box thinking – and your zaniness in the oldest and most faithful tradition of Game-U – your space-going French fries are Game-U’s Moment of June 2020!
(Is anyone else hungry now?)
