Aside from providing our students with a fun and exciting learning experience, our top priority at Game-U is the safety of our students, families, and staff.
In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible during this time, we are shifting all of our group classes that usually take place in the studio to ONLINE classes that students can participate in from home.
Students can continue learning from their existing instructors and making progress with their classwork, all while remaining safely at home.
We’ve rounded up some common questions about this new online learning program and hope that our answers help to clarify things.
When will the online learning classes begin?
Online classes will kick off on Monday, March 23rd.
To give our instructors time to prepare for this new platform, there will be no classes the week of March 16 to 21.
How will online classes work?
Our goal is for students to feel like their online classroom is just an extension of their real-life classroom. Students will still be taught by their same instructor alongside their same classmates.
Using a combination of Google Classroom, Google Hangouts, and Zoom (depending on the needs of each class), students will still have the same fun, educational, interactive experience that they’ve come to expect at Game-U.
Since they’re likely to be home every day, all day – we’ll be providing additional activities and exercises for them to tackle via Google Classroom. Stay tuned for more info shortly!
What else can students do beyond their usual classes?
We know how much our students love learning, so we are opening up our Game-U LIVE service for FREE to all currently-enrolled group class students for at least the next three months.
Game-U LIVE provides online live-streaming instruction on game design, art, programming, 3D modeling, and more. This includes an additional 8 hours of instruction per week, plus access to more than 100 hours of previous lessons.
Students can also get instant access to help from one of our instructors, 7 days/week in our Game-U LIVE Discord server, so they’ll never be left to figure things out on their own.
Through these live-stream classes, students can continue to pursue their interests at their own pace, offering them plenty of opportunities to explore and expand their knowledge while they’re home-bound.

How do students get started?
All parents will receive an email with instructions on how to transition to the online group using Google Classroom.
Students will have access to daily challenges, weekly competitions, and game nights, all through our Game-U Homeroom!
When will in-studio classes resume?
We do intend to shift back to teaching in our studios (in real life) once it is safe to do so again. We will continue to follow the government’s safety recommendations and will alert families when we plan to resume our regular in-studio schedule.

Thank you to our Game-U families!
We’d like to thank all parents in advance for your patience and support as we make this transition.
There might be a few bumps in the road along the way, but we’re committed to providing the same engaging experience, and hopefully, this retains some sense of normalcy for our students.
Stay safe everyone…and we look forward to seeing you online!
