Game-U’s Moment of September 2020
A happy side effect of Game-U’s creative writing class!
According to her mother, Lucy C. really enjoyed her latest writing class. Immediately after it concluded, she came running into the room to ask her mom to get C.S. Lewis’ famous book The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe for her! She is still discovering what types of books she enjoys reading, so her mother was more than happy to oblige her request.
What exactly prompted this venture into literature? Writing her own, of course! This month, the Creative Writing gang – Fox K., Alex D., Austin C., Jack D., and Lucy C. – has been studying the differences between good and bad writing styles, picking apart samples, listing characteristics, writing a round-robin style Group Story with their classmates (that instructor Anna declares to be both an instant hit as an exercise as well as a gripping suspense thriller about space aliens, war, life, death, and a whole host of characters that she still can’t keep track of), and more. Lucy came across an excerpt of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe during this lesson and was immediately hooked!
Congratulations, Lucy and co.! For your tenacity, enthusiasm, and eagerness to try out new things and expand your horizons, you’re all Game-U’s moment of September 2020!
