Homes in 3D!

Housing for the future – sturdy, inexpensive, environmentally helpful, and lightning fast to construct. Pipe dream? Not so much anymore. Just this month, 3D printed houses are exploding onto the scene – and the market! – and bringing the future right to us. Read on to learn about Game-U’s 3D printing and modeling courses, and how we’re introducing that future to our students.
As it stands, with the speed of construction (built in days or less!), low structure cost, environmental friendliness, flexible design options, locally sourced and (in some cases) recyclable materials, and several other advantages, printing a home (as odd as it sounds!) is definitely a viable alternative to other types of construction. There’s already 3D printed neighborhoods in Texas and California going up, with more in the works! Surprising? (It surprised me, for sure.) Well, it just might be the reality the next generation grows up in – and here at Game-U, they’re already ahead of the curve.
Game-U has always taught 3D modeling and printing, giving students hands-on experience with filament, extrusion, scaffolding, printers, models, software, and more, taking students through every step of the process – from the mere concept of a model, to holding it in their hands! Not only that, but Game-U’s 3D printing, modeling, and robotics courses (complete with a virtual summer camp coming up soon!) are taught using professional, industry-standard CAD engineering and design software. These are virtual and cooperative, enabling the instructor and students to see modifications and collaborate on projects in real-time, just as they would in the workplace.
Here at Game-U, we’re preparing our children for the future, whatever it might look like, and having a lot of fun doing it. Come join us!
