Remember Robert R.? He works with instructor Erica as part of Game-U’s New Jersey Accelerate program. Last month, Robert helped us ring in the new year, and now, with the Super Bowl still in the air, he’s hosting his own Project Spark NFL battle!
For the first half of his lesson, Robert used the Terrain and Prop tools to craft a football field (complete with lines and goals) hemmed by stands. In his hands, grassy textures, red flora, strips of empty world, disco balls, and cubified terrain come together to form a convincing representation of the Super Bowl’s environs. Once satisfied with the game’s layout, Robert moved on to create players in the Character Studio. Check out his renditions of the Eagles’ and the Patriots’ uniforms as the teams face off!

Next, Robert added competition-driving Kode into the players’ Brains. Whenever the ball bumps a player, it activates a state of “owning” the ball by attaching itself to the bumped player and instructing him to run for the end zone. But the player better run fast! If another player bumps the ball owner, he throws the ball into the air and leaves it up for grabs. Players who don’t own the ball are always looking for either it or opposing team members. The resulting battle is indeed worthy of the Super Bowl!
Cool game here, Robert! Thank you for giving us a digital Super Bowl as well as the real one! Keep in touch as you and Erica build more great stuff in Project Spark. We’re enjoying your lessons almost as much as you are!
