This week, students across all age levels are finishing up the Streetfighter module! Beginning in early September, they were challenged to create a fully functional street fighting game. These games are complete with attack move mechanics, unique character design, and an environment for their characters to fight in.
Who will come out on top? In the finished games, students compete against each other in street fighting brawls to see which of their characters have the best moves. Each grade level utilizes a different game engine to make their masterpieces. Adventurers and Explorers use Project Spark, Pioneers are working in GameMaker, and Voyagers in Unity.
Take a look at some artwork from Pioneer Jacob J.! In his game, you fight as a worm or an octopus. Don’t underestimate these slimy guys – they pack a punch! Scratch, claw, or tentacle slap your way to victory. Each fighter has tricks up their sleeve for any opponent!
Check out our first Game Showcase in Dublin!
Want to join the fight? Now, you can! We are hosting our first Game Showcase on October 24th from 6-8 p.m. for anyone who wants to try out the best games of the module! Everyone is invited to come and see exactly how the games were made, so bring your family and friends! Mingle with instructors, try your luck for a GameStop gift card, and see why our students love to make games at Game-U!
