Game-U is excited to announce the return of Minecraft Game Nights…but this time, from HOME!
We know kids miss experiencing Game Nights in our studio, so we can’t wait to provide them with a safe, fun environment to play and socialize on from your home computer!
Want to know how it will work? Read on!
When are the virtual Minecraft Nights happening?
Starting on Friday, April 24, virtual Minecraft Nights will run 3 times per week, on Mondays, Fridays, & Saturdays from 5pm to 8pm.
What will players get to do?
Game-U has set up a private server featuring a Creative and Survival world, so players can build and do all the Minecraft activities they enjoy. Players can also socialize over voice chat with friends and instructors using our Discord voice server.
In the near future, we also plan to host bi-weekly Creative Build Competitions in the Creative world, offering players a chance to earn XP for their Game-U profiles!
How much does it cost?
- Current Game-U students: Virtual Minecraft Nights are FREE!
- Non-students: $10 per week for 9 hours of gaming fun. (Just over $1 per hour!)
Will anyone monitor the gameplay?
Yes, Game-U staff will be there to enforce our private server’s strict rules and maintain a fun, safe environment. There will be no bad language, spamming, or destroying other player’s buildings in protected areas.
How do we access Game-U’s Minecraft server?
Current Game-U Students
Current students can request access to our private server by clicking the ORANGE button below. Please note that you must be playing on the PC/Mac version of Minecraft Java Edition.
Non-Students
If you’re NOT a current student, click the BLUE button below to purchase access to the server. Please note that you must be playing on the PC/Mac version of Minecraft Java Edition.
How can players communicate with friends & instructors during the game?
Minecrafters can connect with fellow players to chat about the game via our Discord voice server. Players can also ask questions or just say hi to Game-U instructors.
Once you log in to the server for Virtual Minecraft Night, click the LIGHT BLUE button below to join the voice chat. You can either download Discord or open it in your browser; both methods work.
If you don’t already have a Discord account, you can create one and then get started chatting!
A link to the voice server can also be found on the Minecraft server once you log in to play.
