About Me

Beatrix has nearly a decade of experience in teaching and administration across a range of subjects, serving as a Tech Program Facilitator, center supervisor, site director, program lead, and more at various after-school and educational STEAM programs. GameU provides an opportunity for her to hone her own skills as well as to combine her expertise in youth services and its passion for game design!

In its free time, Beatrix enjoys drawing, playing (and making!) tabletop role-playing games, crafting miniatures, sculpting, woodworking, soldering, and fixing anything and everything broken.

Achievements

  • Attended Southwestern Oregon Community College, Oregon State University, and Santa Rosa Junior College for General Education, Nuclear Engineering, and Digital Design, respectively
  • Participated in the popular game jam Ludum Dare
  • A game master for multiple TTRPG (tabletop role-playing games) projects
  • Helped students build simple phone apps in Applab, receiving regional attention for their success
  • Created a popular TTRPG game using cardboard props, suitable for ten to twenty students to play at a time
  • Authored and developed A Backyard Scramble, which ranked 52nd out of over a thousand games in the humor category
  • Skilled in multiple applications and programming languages, including Unity, Scratch, MATLAB, Aseprite, Piskel, Adobe Photoshop, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and C#
