
Explorer Game Design (EDT)

Explorer is where students will dive into more complex topics within game development. They will use Construct 3, a web-based game engine with unlimited possibilities to build videos games they couldn’t have before. The Explorer classes will introduce topics such as boolean logic, digital animation, and real-time features such as physics and particle effects. At the end of each two-month unit, students will end up with a finished game they can be proud of.
Explorer Code (EDT)

Students in Explorer Code learn the power of code by building apps, websites, games, and more! This co-ed class teaches students how to write, edit, and troubleshoot code in age-appropriate software. By applying universal programming principles to hands-on projects, students learn how professional programmers harness the code that drives modern technology.
Explorer Minecraft Modding (EDT)

Explorer is where kids can start exploring the world of Minecraft modding! They will use a program called MCreator to make custom items, weapons, and blocks that they can actually use in-game! Students will learn texture design, block coding, and how to design new gameplay mechanics. At the end of every one-month unit, students will have an array of new mechanics and tools to play with inside the game they love to play!
Explorer Roblox Design (EDT)

Explorer is a great starting point for Roblox Game Development! Roblox Studio allows anyone to make games that can be easily played online. Students will learn how to 3D model, script in LUA, make collection systems, and add UI to the screen. At the end of each two-month unit, students will leave with a published game on the Roblox website.
Explorer Robotics (EDT)

Game-U’s Robotics course is designed to introduce students to STEM principles and hands-on practical skills, based on real academic and industry standards, to form a foundation of robotics knowledge! Students will handle an array of real-world parts and tools over a 6-month unit following a comprehensive project. By the end of the course, students will have a real product they can touch and keep, and a guided presentation of the project to show off!
Explorer 2D Art (EDT)

Explorer focuses on the key elements of art, allowing students to learn to exercise and express their creativity successfully through a variety of mediums. Students will learn foundational concepts such as value, line, space, and figure/gesture drawing. After each one-month unit, students will leave with 1-2 finished projects they can post wherever they want.
Open Lab (EDT)

Open Labs are available free of charge to current students. While no lessons are taught in Labs, students have the opportunity to work on achievement badges, ask questions, watch makeup videos improve on current projects, and work on side projects, all under the supervision of an instructor.
STEM Open Lab (EDT)

Looking to sharpen your STEM skills? Want to wow your teachers and friends with all sorts of mad science experiments and amazing facts? Come check out our new STEM Open Lab! We’ll be covering super cool demonstrations and experiments from outside our usual curriculum, covering topics from clean energy, to archeology! Not only that, but you guys will get to submit your questions, and suggestions for experiments every week during class! No further materials will be necessary – just log in and learn! See you in the classroom! Open Labs are available free of charge to current students.
