COPPA Notice

Pursuant to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”), Game-U must provide prior notice to and obtain parent/legal guardian consent prior to collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children under the age of 13. In order to provide services and communicate online with our minor users (“Enrollees”), Game-U has collected or will collect the child’s contact information from you. We also have collected or will collect your online contact information in order to notify you if the Enrollee provides us with contact or other personal information.

To provide educational services to the Enrollee, Game-U would like to collect personal information from and about the child. Parental consent is necessary for this to occur. By enrolling your student in any Game-U class, you agree to our use of data related to your Enrollee as necessary for us to provide the class(es) in which you have registered that Enrollee.

Game-U collects and maintains information provided by Enrollees on its website. Enrollees are not asked for their personal information, but some may provide it via the interactive portions of the website and services though they are warned against this. Parents directly provide the personal information related to the Enrollee necessary for Game-U to provide the Services. The information collected may be personally identifiable information, including the Enrollee’s full name, on-line pseudonym or username, email address, date of birth, gender, and photographs, video, or audio file which may contain the child’s image or voice.

There may also be information about the Enrollee’s computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by Game-U. This information can include an IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used by Game-U for the operation of the service and to maintain quality of the service.

Once an Enrollee has enrolled to take classes with Game-U, we create an account in our online course management system. Parents have access to this account and can edit the account information which may include the personal information listed above. Enrollees also have access to this account but have limited ability to make any changes. Game-U does not require the disclosure of more information than is reasonably necessary to provide the Services, and we use all such information in accordance with our Privacy Policy located at https://www.game-u.com/privacy-policy/.
